TINKER
Privacy Policy
Last updated September 28, 2026
Tinker is a staff time-tracking service operated by Precision Guesswork Technologies LLC (“we”, “us”). It records the hours a business's team works. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how it is handled.
What we collect
- Business details: your business name and workspace address.
- Admin accounts: the manager's name, email, an optional phone number, and a password (stored only as a secure hash, never in plain text).
- Employee accounts: the employee's name, email, and a personal passkey used to clock in (also stored only as a secure hash).
- Time records: clock-in and clock-out timestamps.
- Location (optional): if the device allows it, the location at the moment of a clock-in or clock-out, used to tag where the punch happened. If location is denied or unavailable, the clock still works and no location is stored. When a punch is off-site (not at a workplace your business has defined), we convert those coordinates into a nearby street address and store it with the punch, so your managers can see where an off-site punch happened — see “Sharing” below.
What we do not collect
Tinker tracks hours, not money. We do not collect pay rates, wages, tax information, bank or card numbers, or any other financial or payment data.
How it is used
The information is used only to provide time tracking to the business you work for. Your records are visible to the administrators of your own business and are not shown to any other business. Each business's data is kept separate and isolated from every other business on the service.
Sharing
We do not sell your information. We share it only as needed to operate the service (for example, the infrastructure that stores the data) or where required by law.
One specific case: to turn an off-site punch's coordinates into a street address, we send only that latitude and longitude — never a name, email, or which business or employee it belongs to — to a mapping provider, Geoapify (geoapify.com), a European service bound by the GDPR. This happens only for off-site punches; a clock-in at a workplace you have defined is never sent anywhere.
Retention and your choices
We keep your information while the account is active. An employee may decline location sharing at any time in their browser. To correct or delete information, contact your business's administrator, or reach us at the address below.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Passwords and passkeys are stored as secure hashes, and access is walled off per business.
